Register HereJoin C5 for an EV Showcase at the 11th Annual Central Coast Sustainability Summit on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. The event brings together representatives from local governments and organizations to discuss common sustainability issues, share best practices, and seek partners in collaboratively addressing complex environmental and economic issues.
Learn MoreThis year we will be returning with another outstanding event to the Ventura Harbor Village. Over on the main lawn you will find an amazing showcase of electric vehicles. There will be Cars, Vans, SUV’s, Trucks, Bikes and other electric equipment, even vintage EV conversions. These cars are displayed by their owners who have years of EV ownership and have driven many petroleum free miles. They all are enthusiastic and willing to discuss their experience and answer your questions about owning and living with an EV.
If you own an EV, register with the RSVP button and bring your vehicle to the showcase, meet and mingle with members of our local EV community. Enjoy the opportunity to visit the Ventura Harbor Village for some excellent eats and opportunities for shopping, you might even stroll down to the Visitor Center of Channel Islands National Park and learn about the amazing resource just off our coast. (sorry, no chargers out there).
This will be the 11th National Drive Electric Week Showcase in Ventura County. Last year’s event displayed 69 vehicles representing 31 models including an electric school bus. Combined EV mileage was just under 3 million miles. This year we anticipate having a greater diversity of vehicles, with more owners and experiences to share.
To further your knowledge about electric vehicles, charging options, rebates and electrical options, there will be booths from community organizations and service providers to answer your questions.
Learn MoreCheck out a wide variety of electric cars, trucks, and bikes, many of which will be available for a test drive or ride. Featured EVs include the Ford’s F-150 Lightning & Mach-e, Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 & 6, Chevy Bolts and hopefully, a new Chevy Blazer EV. EV owners of these and other models will be on hand to answer your questions and talk about the joys of driving and riding electric. And be sure to stop in at one of the information booths to find out how you can get over $10,000 in rebates and tax credits to buy or lease an EV.
Learn MoreJoin hundreds from our community in celebrating The Port of Hueneme which is truly a diverse working port. This festival has many features including Port Tours, a Kids Zone, Live Bands, Tasty Eats (banana themed) and shopping fun.
In addition, there will be an EV Showcase and Educational Booth provided by the Electric Vehicle Advocates of Ventura County. Interact with members of the group, some of whom have years of experience in owning and driving electric vehicles. This first-hand knowledge is provided to answer your questions and prepare you for EV ownership. Informational topics include available EV’s, rebates and incentives, charging at home, the workplace or while on the road. If you want to install an EV charger in your home, we can help to walk you through the process. Bring your questions, we have the answers…
The port not only is a major banana transfer point, but it is also one of the top ten ports in the US for automobile imports and exports. Some of the vehicles brought through the port will also be on display and may include EV’s from BMW, Volvo, Jaguar, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Tesla, and Subaru.
The Port of Hueneme is a recognized leader in sustainable port operations and has been certified as a “Green Marine Certified since 2018. If you take the Port Tour you will observe the program use of electric cranes, forklifts, and yard tractors. There even is program to provide shore power to the cargo ships to have them shut down the engines while in port.
This two-part event will start in the SLO Library Conference Room located at 995 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, where participants will hear about the many ways to Electrify Your Life: At Home and On the Road. You will not only learn how to get started on the path to an electric lifestyle and the resources available to help you, but you will also be able to talk to those who have made the switch. A variety of vendors and organizations will be represented, offering valuable information about the financial incentives and technical assistance available for home electrification. The second half of the event will be outside in the Farmers’ Market, where EV owners will showcase their cars, answer questions and discuss the many advantages of a fully electric lifestyle.
