Southern California Edison Pre-Owned EV Program

The SCE Pre-Owned EV Rebate program offers one of two options, based on your household level of income, when you purchase or lease an eligible pre-owned electric vehicle. Eligible applicants may receive $1,000 for the purchase or lease of a pre-owned EV, or income-qualified applicants may instead receive $4,000 based on their household level of income for the purchase or lease of a pre-owned EV.

PG&E Pre-Owned EV Program

The PG&E Pre-Owned EV Rebate program offers two rebate levels, based on the applicant’s household level of income when the pre-owned electric vehicle was purchased or leased. Eligible applicants may receive $1,000 for the purchase or lease of a pre-owned EV, or income-qualified applicants may receive $4,000 based on their household level of income for the purchase or lease of a pre-owned EV.

Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) Electrify Your Ride - Commercial

3CE promotes electrifying for reasons including decreased fuel and maintenance costs, and increased environmental and health benefits. 3CE provides rebates for various vehicles including battery electric ($1,000-$2,000) and electric motorcycles ($1,000). Commercial property owners may qualify for up to 5 incentives.

Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) Electrify Your Ride - Residential

3CE promotes electrifying for reasons including decreased fuel and maintenance costs, and increased environmental and health benefits. 3CE provides rebates for various vehicles including battery electric ($2,000-$4,000) and electric motorcycles ($1,000-$2,000).

IRS Clean Vehicle Tax Credits

Under Internal Revenue Code Section 30D, you may qualify for credit up to $7,500 if you buy a new plug-in electric vehicle or fuel cell electric vehicle. The vehicle must be for personal use and be used primarily in the U.S.

Santa Barbara Clean Energy Rebate

SBCE is celebrating Earth Day by updating their EV Rebate Program. Starting April 22, 2024, standard rebates are between $500 and $1,000 depending on the vehicle. Income qualified customers can now receive a rebate up to $4,000!

SBCAPCD Clean Air Grants for On-Road Vehicles Program

SBCAPCD offers funding opportunities for a variety of on-road vehicle replacement projects located within Santa Barbara County. Compliant diesel commercial trucks and buses, compliant diesel solid waste collection vehicles, compliant diesel transit/urban buses and compliant diesel transportation of refrigeration units can all be replaced with a zero-emission vehicle alternative. The grant funds will be determined based on the amount of reduced pollutant emissions; prospective applications are encouraged to use CARB’s On-Road Grant Calculator to estimate eligible grant funding. 

PG&E EV Fleet Program

PG&E aims to help 700+ organizations in converting to electric vehicles and deploy over 6,500 medium- and heavy- duty fleet vehicles by 2024 by offering infrastructure incentives to offset the costs of transitioning to an electric fleet. Transit buses and Class 8 vehicles may earn $9,000 per vehicle. Transportation refrigeration units, truck stop electrification, airport ground support equipment, and forklifts may earn $3,000 per vehicle. School buses and local delivery trucks may earn $4,000 per vehicle. 

Eligibility: 

  1. Must be a PG&E electric customer 
  2. Own or lease a property (be able to install charging infrastructure on site) 
  3. Acquire at least 2 medium- or heavy- duty EVs by 2024

SBCAPCD 2023 Clean Air Grants for School Buses Program

SBCAPCD offers funding to public school districts in Santa Barbara County to assist with the purchase of new zero-emission school buses. Successful projects will be eligible to receive funding between $10,000 – $250,000; funding is capped at a maximum of 80% of eligible project costs. The application window will open Monday, July 24, 2023, and close on Friday, September 1, 2023. 

California Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP)

In 2022, the California Air Resources Board approved over an $1.7 billion allocation of clean transportation incentives. They have $250 million available for standard HVIP, $65 million for transit, $117 million for public school buses, $147 million for drayage trucks, and $33 million for innovative small e-fleets.

EPA’s Clean School Bus Program

The 2023 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) opened on April 24, 2023. EPA anticipates awarding approximately $400 million in competitive grant funding under the Clean School Bus (CSB) Grants Program Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). The program is soliciting applications nationwide for a grant competition to fund the replacement of existing school buses with clean and zero-emission (ZE) school buses. Applications are due Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 8:59pm PST.

Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) Electric Bus Program

3CE is providing incentives for purchasing or leasing all-electric school buses and agricultural worker transport buses. Schools/school districts can earn up to $200,000 per vehicle and agricultural transport businesses can earn up to $150,000 per vehicle.

SCE Charge Ready Transport

The Charge Ready Transport Program gives your business the opportunity to install the infrastructure to support a fleet of medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles (EVs) at low or no cost to you. By taking your fleet from gas to electric, you’ll have the unique opportunity to both help the environment and save on fuel and investment costs.

PG&E Multifamily Housing and Small Business EV Charger Program

PG&E, in partnership with Ecology Action, will install Level 1 and Level 2 EV chargers at multifamily housing (MFH) units, not-for-profit organizations and small businesses, at no cost for sites located in a priority community. The program includes an education campaign for site residents and employees to increase awareness about the charger installation and other EV benefits and incentives.

Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) Electrify Your Ride - Commercial

3CE provides rebates for Level 2 Charger purchases (75% of equipment cost up to $3,000) as well as EV Readiness (75% of the materials and labor costs up to $5,000). Commercial property owners may qualify for up to 3 project sites for EV chargers and EV readiness incentives.

The SBCAPCD offers grant funding for the installation of electric vehicle charging stations (Level 2 & DCFC) and hydrogen fueling stations in Santa Barbara County. Successful projects will be eligible to receive funding between $10,000 – $250,000; funding is capped at a maximum of 80% of eligible project costs

PG&E Empower EV Program

PG&E’s Empower EV Program offers income-eligible households up to $2,500 in financial incentives. The program extends to qualifying customers in single-family households who have recently purchased or leased an EV within six months prior to applying to the program.

SCE offers 4 Charge Ready Programs that are directed towards business and public sector stakeholders who are interested in installing electric vehicle charging equipment. Commercial, multi-family, and public sector properties of all types are encouraged to apply.

SCE offers 4 Charge Ready Programs that are directed towards business and public sector stakeholders who are interested in installing electric vehicle charging equipment. Commercial, multi-family, and public sector properties of all types are encouraged to apply. 

PG&E EV Fleet Program

PG&E strives to help 700+ organizations in converting to electric vehicles and deploy over 6,500 medium- and heavy- duty fleet vehicles by 2024 by offering EV charger rebates. For Level 2 and DC fast chargers, eligible rebates are dependent on the power output and can earn up to 50% of the cost of the EV charger. Chargers up to 50 kW can earn up to $15,000, chargers from 50.1kW to 149,9kW can earn up to $25,000, and chargers 150kW and above can earn up to $42,000. 

Eligibility:

SLOAPCD Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Grant Program

SLO APCD’s grant program is providing funding for electric vehicle charging and hydrogen fueling stations in SLO county. There is currently over $796,000 available on a first come, first serve basis.

EnergIIZE Commercial Vehicles

Energy Infrastructure Incentives for Zero-Emission Commercial Vehicle is a commercial vehicle fleet infrastructure incentive project. Incentives are offered for zero-emission vehicle infrastructure equipment for medium and heavy-duty vehicles.

IRS Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit

The Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit was extended to 2033 and modified by the Inflation Reduction Act, and starting this year, qualifying property is limited to property placed in service within low-income or non-urban census tracts. The credit for qualified refueling property subject to depreciation equals 6% with a maximum credit of $100,000 for each single item of property.
